There are grants available specifically to veterans and to members of the veteran community more broadly.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs – Veteran and Community Grants
The DVA provides grants for activities and services that benefit the veteran community, such as:
- promoting a healthy lifestyle
- helping veterans to remain living independently in their own homes
- reducing social isolation
- supporting carers
- improving access to community services.

Victorian grants to support veterans and commemorative events
The Victorian Veterans Council offers 2 grant programs that support the veteran community with funding for:
- welfare-related activities
- projects that honour or commemorate veterans’ service
- projects that educate Victorians about veterans contributions.
Anzac Day Proceeds Fund
The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund supports the veteran community by funding a range of wellbeing-related activities. This funding helps organisations whose principle objective is providing welfare to the ex-service community.
Victoria Remembers Grant Program
Grants of up to $30,000 (excluding GST) are available for projects honouring or commemorating veterans’ service or educating Victorians about veterans’ contributions.
The Victorian Government offers grants to support and commemorate veterans and to preserve war heritage.
Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Grant Program
Up to $30,000 (excluding GST) is available for community groups to conserve and maintain war memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour, or to change them to better reflect veteran service in their community. Only one application can be made per project.
Veterans Capital Works Grant Program
Grants between $5,000 and up to $50,000 (excluding GST) are available for projects which support building and facility improvements for not-for-profit organisations delivering services to veterans, their families and communities.
