Strategies

As an independent advisory body, the Victorian Veterans Council provides advice to the Minister for Veterans on matters relating to Victoria’s veteran sector.

Victorian Veteran Sector Studies

In 2021 the VVC will commission a third veteran sector study to improve understanding of the needs and issues faced by the sector. The study will include consultation with the veteran sector and identify gaps and/or barriers for veterans accessing welfare and other services and provide recommendations that improve policies and program delivery.

Studies conducted in 2008 and 2015 resulted in a number of recommendations that were accepted and implemented by the Victorian Government including the Veteran Richmond Accommodation Project and the Public Sector Veteran Employment Strategy.
