Getting to the Shrine of Remembrance
The Shrine is 1.3 km from Flinders Street Station. You can walk or catch a tram from the city. Take any southbound tram (except route number 1) from Federation Square to stop 19 Shrine of Remembrance.
Accessibility
The Visitor Centre and Education Centre are step-free.
Parking
The nearest parking is on Birdwood Avenue and St Kilda Road (ticketing required).
Disabled Access bays are opposite the Shrine on both sides of Birdwood Avenue.

Sovereign Room
Via Convention Centre Place entrance:
- enter through the glass doors
- turn right at the Customer Service Desk
- take the escalator or lift opposite Goldfields Café to Level 1
- the Sovereign Room is at the top of the escalator.
Via Clarendon Street entrance:
- walk to the other end of the MCEC
- turn right through Door 9
- take the escalator or lift opposite Goldfields Café to Level 1
- the Sovereign Room is at the top of the escalator.
Getting to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
Via car
If you are being driven to the event, ask the driver to drop you at Convention Centre Place next to Pan Pacific Melbourne and DFO South Warf.
Parking
If you are driving to the event, there is secure car parking available around MCEC. Options include:
- Wilson Parking at South Wharf , Southbank and underground carpark (park near Door 9 or Door 10 for the closest entry to the event)
- Care Park at Montague or Siddeley .
Book online before you visit to ensure you’re guaranteed a great spot.
Via train
The closest station is Southern Cross. Exit onto Flinders St and catch a 96, 109 or 12 tram and get off at Stop 124A Casino/MCEC.
Via tram
Tram routes 96, 109 and 12 (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC) take you to the Clarendon Street entrance.
Tram routes 70, 75 and the City Circle (Stop D5) take you to Flinders Street. From there, it’s just a short walk up Clarendon Street until you reach the MCEC.
